The CTHFA together with its academic partners: The University of Connecticut School of Business, Fairfield University Dolan School of Business and the Yale University School of Management Investment Management Club, hosts a quarterly symposium series that has received acclaim for its thought provoking and timely content.

Past symposia have included: Pension Reform and Hedge Funds; The Role of Short Sellers in the Capital Markets; Systemic Risk, How Would Hedge Funds Behave in a Crisis?, Real Estate and Irrational Exuberance, The Return of Volatility and the Credit Crisis; and our annual World Hedge Fund Forum, which in its first year, attracted more than 500 delegates over two days and generated national media attention.

In addition to our lecture series, we are also committed to promoting a sense of community among our members by regularly hosting a variety of socially engaging networking events. The CTHFA is also fostering a sense of responsibility within our community by developing a philanthropic initiative with our members. It is our hope to host future CTHFA events that will raise money for Connecticut and other charities. Our deep commitment to establishing an active philanthropic component was underscored in 2006 by the addition of The Hole in the Wall Gang Fund to our Board of Directors.
