David Harmston, partner and global head of Albourne’s Client Group

David Harmston is a Partner and Global Head of Albourne’s Client Group and previously head of US operational due diligence. His current responsibilities include overseeing business development and client service globally. Harmston joined Albourne Partners Ltd in London in 2000, where he successfully managed the launch of the Village Web site. In 2001, he left the London office to set up Albourne America LLC in San Francisco where he remained until early 2007. He then moved to Connecticut to open up an office for Albourne in Rowayton.

Early in his career, Harmston spent four years at JP Morgan Investment Management (London). Harmston received an MBA from the University of Cape Town in 2000 and is a member of CAIA.

 

Terry Purcell, Principal Investment Officer - Alternative Investments & Private Equity at Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds

Terrence Purcell is the principal investment officer for the $26.7 billion State of Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds (CRPTF), Terrence has primary responsibility for the CRPTF’s investments in hedge funds, private equity, real assets, venture capital and opportunistic investments. In addition, he assists in setting policy for the CRPTF’s public equity and emerging manager programs. Institutional Investor Magazine recently named Terrence as a 2013 Hedge Fund Rising Star. Prior to joining the CRPTF in early 2012, Terrence was managing partner of Purcell Capital Management LLC, a hedge fund firm he founded in 1998.

He earned a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

 

Peter Carey, Principal and Head of Marketing and Business Development at Archview Investment Group

Peter Carey - Principal and Head of Marketing and Business Development. Prior to joining Archview, Mr. Carey was a Managing Director at SkyBridge Capital, responsible for the Institutional Advisory Business. Prior to SkyBridge, he was a portfolio manager and Director of Absolute Return Strategies for the New York State Common Retirement Fund.

He was responsible for the risk, return and overall performance of the hedge fund portfolio for the Fund. He was also a member of the internal investment committee which reviewed all external managers across asset classes and strategies.

Mr. Carey also worked in the institutional fixed income department of Bear Stearns. Mr. Carey received his BS from the US Military Academy and his MBA degree in Finance from the University of Southern California. He also served in the US Army as an infantry officer.
